GRANIT on your computer

The app is GRANIT in a window of its own. It keeps your notes on that computer and works without the internet. It's separate from GRANIT online: notes don't move between the two.

Which Mac do I have?

Open the Apple menu › About This Mac. If it shows a chip called Apple M1, M2 or later, choose Apple silicon. If it shows an Intel processor, choose Intel.

The first time you open it

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag GRANIT onto Applications.
  2. Open GRANIT from Applications. macOS says it can't check the app for malware: press Done.
  3. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security, scroll down to Security, press Open Anyway beside GRANIT and confirm with your password.

You do this once. macOS asks it about every app that isn't registered with Apple, which costs a yearly fee. If Chrome asks whether to keep the file, choose Keep.
